Education & Higher Ed Video Production

We’ve spent years telling stories inside classrooms, school districts, and the organizations working to make education better — from edtech products used by thousands of teachers to documentaries that changed how a community understood a literacy crisis in their own backyard.

If you’re a school, university, edtech company, foundation, or nonprofit trying to show what your program actually does — not just talk about it — this is the kind of work we do best.

Who We Work With

  • K-12 schools and districts
  • Higher education institutions
  • Edtech companies and platforms

Along, for Chan Zuckerberg Initiative

CZI hired us to create a marketing video for Along, their teacher-student connection tool built to help educators check in with students and build stronger relationships in the classroom. We handled producing, directing, production, and post — delivering a full promo video plus social cutdowns for CZI to use across channels.

From Struggle to Strength, for Eat. Learn. Play.

Eat. Learn. Play. launched a series of high-dosage tutoring pilots to help the Oakland Unified School District tackle a growing literacy crisis — with no guarantee any of it would work. We built a 20-minute mini-documentary that followed three students’ journeys through the program, blending observational classroom footage, personal stories, and expert insight to show both the struggle and the real progress being made. The film went on to win a Silver Telly Award.

That’s the range we bring to education work: a tight product marketing video for an edtech tool, and a full documentary built around real kids and real outcomes. Same rigor, different formats, whatever the story calls for.

What We Produce for Education Clients

Edtech product videos

Demos, explainers, and marketing videos for platforms and tools built for classrooms

Recruitment & admissions content

For higher ed institutions who need to show, not just describe, campus life and program value

Testimonial & case study videos

Teachers, students, and administrators speaking to real results

Program & impact documentaries

The kind of long-form storytelling that shows funders, boards, and communities what's actually happening, not just what's claimed

Funder & grant reports

Video-first reporting that makes an annual report or impact update something people actually watch

Why Education Organizations Work With Us

Education stories live or die on trust. Anyone can say a program “works” — we build the kind of footage and narrative that lets teachers, students, and outcomes speak for themselves, which is what actually moves funders, boards, and prospective families. We’ve done this for a major foundation initiative and for a hands-on literacy program at the school-district level, so whether your budget and scope looks like a national campaign or a single-district pilot, we know how to shape it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does an education video cost?

It depends on scope. A tight product or testimonial video for an edtech platform runs a lot leaner than a multi-day documentary shoot across classrooms with multiple student stories, like we did for Eat. Learn. Play. Most education projects we take on land somewhere between a single-location interview shoot and a multi-day production with travel, releases, and post-production built in.

Yes — this is a big part of what we do. It comes with real logistics though: district approval, parent/guardian consent forms, working around class schedules, and being mindful of how much disruption a crew brings into a learning environment. We plan for all of that upfront so it doesn’t become a surprise mid-shoot.

We work within whatever consent and release process your school or district already has in place, and we’ll flag early if something’s missing. We don’t put a student on camera without documented parent or guardian consent. If your organization needs to stay mindful of FERPA or similar student privacy considerations, tell us up front and we’ll build the shoot around it.

That’s normal, and honestly it’s how most of our best education work starts. From Struggle to Strength didn’t begin as a script — it began as a question: does this tutoring program actually work? We build the narrative around real footage, real interviews, and what we find on the ground, rather than forcing a story into a script written before we’ve met anyone involved.

A single-location product or testimonial video can often be scripted, shot, and delivered in a few weeks. A documentary-style project with multiple subjects, locations, and a longer edit — like our Eat. Learn. Play. film — typically runs a few months from pre-production through final delivery, since it includes pre-interviews, scheduling around school calendars, and a longer post-production process.

Yes. We’ve worked with district-wide programs and initiatives that span multiple sites. We’ll help you figure out how many locations actually need a crew versus what can be captured more efficiently, so the budget goes toward the story instead of unnecessary travel.

Both. We’ve done work for a major initiative backed by a foundation like CZI, and we’ve done work at the level of a single tutoring program trying to prove out a pilot. The scale of the story matters more to us than the size of the logo behind it.

Both, if you need it. For Along, we delivered the full promo video plus :60 and :30 social cutdowns so CZI had assets ready for multiple channels. We’ll scope deliverables around where the video actually needs to live — your site, a funder presentation, social, or all three.

Let's Talk About Your Project

Every education story is different — a product launch, a funder report, a full documentary. Tell us what you’re trying to show and who needs to see it, and we’ll help you figure out the right format and approach.
